Future , pre-authorized prescriptions

There are times when our DVMs okay future prescriptions (i.e. the client can call-in and request it but they don't need it that day). I wish there was an easier what to do this. Ideally there would be a check box for future prescription. When checked it would not count it as one of the refills, it would be a different color on the screen, and it would not print a label.

This would also be helpful when we are changing prescription directions or medication amounts (tapering a medication). Then the DVM could put in the new prescription/directions so the team knows to use the new prescription the next time the client calls.

Right now our workaround is to use the code the generic code rx and then type in all the info including drug name so when the client calls to fill for hte first time we have to write the new label and this is an area where mistakes can be made.
